There is no prasad quite as unique as the one offered at the Kamakhya Devi Temple in Guwahati. Each year, during Ambubachi, which, incidentally, falls in the month of Aahar according to Assamese tradition, the temple hosts a three-day festival. During this period, the temple remains closed to the public. On the fourth day, thousands of devotees gather to receive a small piece of cloth believed to have been moistened with the menstrual fluid of Goddess Kamakhya.
