Based on the hit video game franchise, the series is set in a post-apocalyptic world ravaged by a fungal infection that transforms much of humanity into violent, infected creatures. The series was co-created by Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann.Druckmann announced his departure ahead of season 3, leaving Mazin as the sole showrunner. Mazin will also write and executive produce. The series is expected to begin shooting this summer.
