Citroen recently launched the updated eC3X in India. This affordable electric crossover goes against one of the country’s best-selling EVs, the Tata Punch EV. Here’s a closer look at how the two electric vehicles stack up on paper in terms of pricing, range, power specs, features and more.

The Citroen eC3X continues with a 29.2 kWh battery pack paired with a front-mounted electric motor producing 57 PS and 143 Nm of torque. The company claims a driving range of up to 320 km on a full charge, while the top speed is rated at 107 kmph. The Tata Punch EV offers two battery options. The smaller 30 kWh battery delivers a claimed range of around 375 km, while the larger 40 kWh battery pack offers up to 468 km on a full charge. The long-range version also produces significantly more power, with output going up to 127 hp with the smaller unit pushing out 87 hp and 154 Nm of torque.

The eC3 X’s cabin has been significantly updated with a new Electric Blue-themed dashboard featuring a leatherette finish, along with dual-tone white leatherette seats with blue accents. It also gets a new 7-inch digital instrument cluster, a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a wireless phone charger, connected car technology with over 40 features, and electric auto-folding ORVMs. The Punch EV, particularly in higher trims, comes loaded with features such as dual digital displays (10.25-inch each for instrument cluster and infotainment system), ventilated front seats, wireless smartphone connectivity, connected car technology, a sunroof and a 360-degree camera.

The Citroen eC3X is priced from Rs 11.99 lakh (ex-showroom), while buyers can also opt for the Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) scheme that lowers the upfront vehicle cost significantly, starting from Rs 6.89 lakh plus Rs 2.26 per km for battery subscription.The Tata Punch EV starts at Rs 9.69 lakh (ex-showroom), making it the more affordable entry point between the two lineups. Tata also offers a BaaS programme on the Punch EV, with the range starting at Rs 6.49 lakh plus battery EMI of Rs 2.6 per km.
