Just a day before ‘Avengers Endgame: Encore’ could release in theatres, several new scenes that link the film to ‘Avengers: Doomsday’, has now been leaked online.‘Avengers Endgame: Encore’ is set to return to cinemas on September 25 in IMAX and other premium formats, with new post-credits sequences reportedly designed to connect the 2019 blockbuster to ‘Avengers: Doomsday’, which is scheduled for release on December 18. However, on Wednesday, several clips believed to have been recorded during a screening have now leaked online, with the footage reportedly featuring scenes that tease the next chapter of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.While the authenticity of the leaked material has not been independently verified, netizens are convinced that the clips are the real deal, following the MCU’s rush to take down the clips from various fan handles.
Doom recruits The Hulk
A total of four clips have been doing the rounds on social media, with one of the alleged sequences reportedly featuring Doctor Doom recruiting Bruce Banner, who subsequently transforms into the Hulk. If authentic, the footage would point to Mark Ruffalo returning as Hulk in ‘Avengers: Doomsday’, after his turn in ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’.
Doctor Doom’s connection to Iron Man
The footage is also said to include a scene of Doctor Doom forging his own mask. The sequence has already generated excitement among fans, with many drawing comparisons to the iconic sequence in the first Iron Man film in which Robert Downey Jr.’s Tony Stark creates his first Iron Man suit and helmet while abducted and held prisoner in a cave.
Loki visits Steve and Peggy
Another scene reportedly features an extended cut of the ‘Avengers: Endgame’ post-credit scene. This time around, it sees Steve and Peggy dancing in their living room, when they are interrupted by a doorbell. When Peggy opens the door, she sees Loki standing in his TVA uniform. As he enters the home, a shocked Steve looks on.
3,000 universes destroyed
The leaked footage also shows an extended clip, over a minute-long scene from the TVA headquarters. Picking up from the hit TV series ‘Loki’, the footage sees Mobius and OB sounding the alarm as they watch universes colliding and timelines disappearing before their eyes. Interestingly, a total of 3,000 universes collide and are eventually destroyed, a subtle nod to the ‘I love you 3,000’ line from ‘Avengers: Endgame’ that plays out in Ironman’s final recorded message to his daughter, Morgan.
Anthony and Joe Russo’s message to fans
While Marvel struggles to take down the clips from various fan handles online, director duo Anthony and Joe Russo, shared an extended clip of the audience’s first-hand reaction while watching ‘Endgame’ in 2019. Sharing the clip, they wrote, “The most emotional night of our careers was sneaking into theaters on opening night of Avengers Endgame. We stood in the back and watched a thousand strangers react – the gasps, the cheers, the tears. We got chills. And may have shed a tear or two ourselves. It was a magical experience in a movie theater. And it was a magical experience for two Comic Book fans from Cleveland, Ohio, who as kids dreamed of telling stories that made people leap out of their seats with excitement.
