MUMBAI: The death toll in the Kurla landslide rose to seven on Wednesday, while seven others were injured and are undergoing treatment at Kurla Bhabha and Rajawadi hospitals.The deceased include four females, two males and one unidentified person.They have been identified as Mohamad Samir Ansari (14), Sahil Husen Abdul Kazi (19), Aban Arif Shaikh (2), Manat Arif Shaikh (4), Marjina Arif Shaikh (27), Viket Ramesh Yadav (27) and an unidentified 45-year-old person.Three injured persons — Farana Dilber Khan (28), Dilber Amnulla Khan (38) and Shamin Muslim Khan (26) — are admitted to Rajawadi Hospital and are in stable condition.At Kurla Bhabha Hospital, four injured persons — Sohel Ansari (18), Mohamad Ansari (14), Naimuddhin Eqbal Khan (28) and Sajid Ansari (16) — are undergoing treatment and are stable.Sohel has suffered a head injury.The incident was reported at 3.48am.

The fire brigade declared it a Level-II incident at 4.32am and launched a rescue operation.Following the landslide incident in Ghatkopar’s Chirag Nagar the BMC has issued a statement.“Residents are routinely alerted by the BMC and advised not to stay at vulnerable locations where there is a possibility of landslides or falling rocks, and to relocate to safer places. Such notices are also issued as part of pre-monsoon precautionary measures,” the statemnet said.“In the case of Hill No. 3 in Ashok Nagar, where the incident took place the @mybmc had also alerted local residents about the risk and conducted awareness campaigns, ” the statemnet said.
