Bollywood actor Kartik Aaryan has donated Rs 1 crore to Assam’s CM Relief Fund amid devastating floods. CM Himanta Biswa Sarma thanked him on X, calling it a “generous contribution.” Salman Khan had earlier aided relief via Being Human. The floods have killed 68 and affected over 4.45 lakh people.

Assam has been battling one of its most severe flood crises in recent years, with rising waters from overflowing rivers displacing lakhs of people, destroying homes, and submerging vast stretches of agricultural land across multiple districts. As relief operations continue amid the devastation, several public figures and organizations have stepped forward to support the affected population. Adding to this wave of support, Bollywood actor Kartik Aaryan has made a generous contribution of Rs 1 crore to the Assam Chief Minister‘s Relief Fund, aimed at aiding rescue and rehabilitation efforts in the flood-hit state.

CM’s office thanks Kartik Aaryan for his gesture

The official post read, “Gratitude to actor @TheAaryanKartik for his generous contribution of ₹1 Crore to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund. HCM Dr. @himantabiswa appreciated his commendable gesture and timely support toward state relief measures.” Taking to his personal X handle, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma also extended his thanks to the actor, writing, “Truly heartened by your generous contribution, @TheAaryanKartik. Your support will go a long way in helping the people of Assam #AssamFloods.”

Salman Khan also extended support

Earlier, Salman Khan had also extended a helping hand to those impacted by the devastating floods in Assam. Through his charitable foundation Being Human, the Bollywood superstar collaborated with the Salman Khan Fan Club (SKFC) Assam to organise relief work in some of the state’s most severely affected regions.

How Kartik Aaryan’s contribution will be utilised

According to reports, the relief effort is being rolled out in stages, with the initial phase centred on addressing urgent needs. Families affected by the floods in Sivasagar are being given ready-to-eat food packets, said to include biscuits, jaggery, poha, puffed rice, bread, cheese and jam. Over the coming days, relief teams are also set to distribute drinking water, water-purification tablets, sanitary pads and mosquito coils as part of this initial support. Further phases of the initiative are anticipated to broaden its reach, with plans to distribute ration kits and medicines in the subsequent stages.

Donation comes amid rising flood toll

For the unversed, this initiative comes as Assam continues to grapple with the fallout of severe flooding in the state. As per an official bulletin, the flood death toll had reached 68 as of July 28, with 4,45,495 people still affected across six districts.
