The West Zone Selection Committee has named a star-studded 15-member squad for the 2026-27 Duleep Trophy, with India batter Ruturaj Gaikwad appointed as captain and Mumbai all-rounder Shams Mulani named vice-captain. The tournament begins on August 23 at the BCCI Centre of Excellence (CoE) in Bengaluru.The squad features the return of several prominent domestic stars, including Prithvi Shaw and Sarfaraz Khan, while Sarfaraz’s younger brother Musheer Khan has also been rewarded for his impressive performances in domestic cricket. Experienced India all-rounder Shardul Thakur adds pace and leadership to the side, alongside fellow Mumbai seamer Tushar Deshpande and spin-bowling all-rounder Tanush Kotian.West Zone have also included two wicketkeeping options in Harvik Desai and Urvil Patel, while Gujarat’s Jaymeet Patel and Siddharth Desai, Baroda duo Shivalik Sharma and Atit Sheth, and Maharashtra pacer Mukesh Chaudhary complete the balanced squad.
